i hope these shoes break in quickly.
These moc boots make a statement and require commitment to break in. Once you do, you’ll have them for life (yes, they’ll last that long). Our Ring Boots are sewn entirely by hand in natural hot-stuffed Chromepak leather. It’s so robust that only strong and experienced hands can get an awl and needle through it. The uppers are cinched together with a strap that’s threaded through welded alloy rings. It takes serious skill to sew another layer of thick Chromepak leather to the uppers to create the unique handsewn wrap. The process further enhances the durability and longevity of each pair. Handmade in Maine.
*Please keep in mind some upper materials may be worn beyond repair. What you receive back is a pair of shoes that you can wear for years to come. (Environmentally friendly and obviously costs less than buying a new pair).

very comfortable-great fit
Yes, I like my American made leather sole shoes. The more I wear it the better it feels. Looks great with jeans.
Well, these were definitely worth the wait. From the first smell of the Horween leather to the anticipation of wearing them for the first time, I got all tingly inside when they arrived. Very comfortable with a medium pair of socks, right out of the box. I usually wear a size 12 in my boots which usually gives me some wiggle room so I can wear thicker socks, but for these handmade wonders, I traced out my foot on paper as suggested and then measured the outline. It measured for a 12 exactly but I knew the leather would stretch a little as it molded to my foot. Couldn’t have asked for a better fit than if I had been to Quoddy in Maine myself. These moc’s were a tad more expensive than the pair of ring boots I bought at a leather shop in Amherst back in the early 70’s but also a whole lot better made. These are boots I’ll probably hand down to the next generation in my will.
If your reading reviews you've already put them in your cart and are hesitating to check-out.
The price is no longer a concern when you think about the boots from beginning to end.
Highest quality leather, literally.
Hand made by an American here in the US. That alone should be enough.
Leather is extremely hard. EXTREMELY, but thats the beauty of it. Yes thy will hurt whilst breaking in, again, that's the beauty of it. Follow the sizing advice, yes they will be tight when you get them.
Here's my method. Treat them like a brand new base ball glove you got as a kid. Remember, you wrapped a ball in it, wrapped shoelaces around it oiled it, threw it on the ground, put under you're mattress, etc...same thing. Work them with your hands while sitting on your tush. stick golfballs in the toebox if they're snug around your toes.
or send them back to Quoddy if your too lazy to break them in and they'll gladly stretch them for you. LOl. Just kidding. Buy them already.
