Blucher Resole

After 9 years of wear, my bluchers were due for a resole.

They didn’t have the original Vibram camp soles, so they used Meramec soles.

They replaced the soles, insoles, and laces for me.

Excellent craftsmanship, timely communication, and quick turn around time.

So refreshing for a company to make a product worthy of servicing and then servicing that product with the same attention to detail as when they made the product.

Highly recommend!

Weird—Not all is well with Quoddy

You asked me for a review so here it is. 1) My 8 year old bluchers were returned resoled with black camp soles. In the hollow of each sole Quoddy had stitched a large piece of tan “Quoddy”-embossed leather. Weird and very, very ugly. I removed the leather pieces with a seam ripper and found beneath Sebago brand marks. So that sort of explains that. 2. I thought I had really looked after these shoes well over 8 years. I had taken particular care not to over condition them, which I’ve done with other oiled leather (like big doses of obenaufs) and I think reduced the structural strength and life of the leather. So Quoddy seems to have given my shoes a deep soak in a colored leather conditioner of some sort. They came back very soft and a uniform, characterless, dullish, brown. I don’t pretend to be an expert. We’ll see. But I can’t say I’m super excited with the service, and think the shoes looked better with my care than they do now.
