Men’s Canoe Shoe: Whiskey

I love this pair almost as much as the dark brown pebble grain ones I have.

In all honesty the whiskey color lacks depth, which I hope will be achieved through wear in developing a patina. Heel slip seems to be more pronounced than in camp mocs from other makers. Again, my hope is this will improve as the shoes break in. Shoes did not come in a shoe box. Only in a shipping box wrapped in tissue paper. Initial opinion is average at best.

I’ve been wearing Bean camp mocs since the mid-60s when I was in college. Been wearing them ever since to Africa and doing chores. Only six years with Sperry Topsider Gold Cups but both are non-USA made. Beans are stiff and Topsiders are soft like slippers. Quoddy canoe moc's are in-between. Quoddy’s are distinctive with their red Vibram soles. Quoddy's are more expensive but they are leather lined and the only one still made in the USA. I ordered my usual size and they fit best without socks. They're nicely built and look forward to wearing them often.

Very nice quality. Pleased to find hand-sewn shoes from Maine at a fair price. I really like the whiskey color and the classic red sole. The length fit was perfect out of the box while the width is just a little tight, but stretching as I wear the new shoes a few hours each day to break them in. The leather is soft and feels great with no socks.
