Good Shoes, Pictures Are Off

I really like the canoe shoe, but the pictures on the website and the shoes actually received are slightly different. The bottom does not have the "vibram" logo on the bottom and the back is slightly altered. I had send them back to size up and paying for shipping on already expensive shoes is quite annoying. Otherwise, the actual shoe itself is very nice.

Love them

I also have the brown pebble version. That version is cut much differently and doesn't fit very well. I thought I'd try these (hoping they'd fit better) and they are great.

I'm giving the pebble version to Good Will.

I’ve gone through a few slip ons over the past year and always had a hard time nailing the fit, my right foot is a tad “thicker” than my left. Primary problem was other shoes having very hard, and unforgiving leather (LL Bean looking at you), but these are like butter. Right shoe was slightly tight out of the box (as I was expecting), but after a few hours of wear, the soft leather already started to conform to my foot and is now basically a perfect fit. I was weary for a while of buying these due to price (only got them because they were $100 off on a Black Friday sale), but will certainly pay full price in the future for another pair. Worth every penny.

Terrible return policy and customer service

These shoes run small. So small that after buying the first pair I was unsure if I needed to go up a half, whole or one and a half sizes. This company's return policy is the worst I've come across and it's pretty clear that they don't care if you're satisfied with your shoes or their service. If you get the wrong size too bad, you pay to ship it back and then wait for another pair. It could very easily take you month to eventually get a pair of shoes your happy with. I suggested a more than reasonable solution that would have been zero risk for them and they just flat out refused to entertain it. Why buy from them when there are plenty of other makers that actually care?

Poor quality!

1. You may call the leather "pull-up", but there are no oils in the leather to "pull-up." The leather resembles corrected grain. Similar to the cheap leather used in Bean's Casco Bay Mocs.

2. The soles do not match those in your website. There is no "Vibram" label, but rather some ground out/buffed out markings in the recessed area of the sole. Bait and switch?

3. The collar around the heel of the right shoe where the lace passes is uneven and sloppily formed. This is bound to cause discomfort if the shoe is worn with or without socks. Go to Rancourt's website to see how this area should be fitted. The shoe should be a "factory second."

I have not even bothered to try on the shoes. I'd rather spend a few dollars more and get a true Chromexcel shoe from Rancourt. I will call for an RMA number 11/28/23 in the P.M. to be rid of this unfortunate purchase.
