Mens Camp Boot LE: Horween Olive

I bought a pair of these on a whim thinking the olive leather would look good contrasted against the brick (red) camp soles. The leather looks straight brown to me, but the leather/brick sole combo is nonetheless fantastic. Much thicker leather than I'd expected, though it's soft & supple like chamois cloth. My thoughts are that the leather laces as used on the MTO Camp Boot are the way to go here; just sent an email inquiring as to whether I can buy a pair of these laces. Five out of 5 stars for this one.

They feel very well made for what they are. It is what they are was a bit unexpected. They are completely unstructured. No solid heel counter, no shank. The sole does not feel solid. The benefit is they are super lightweight. The negative they are too delicate to take off the pavement. They feel like shoes masquerading as boots. They fit very snug at first, but relax after few wears. They end up still hugging your feet tightly. This means you will not take them into hilly terrain where some toe room is very important.

Overall though the quality of the construction is awesome. And I will wear them happily into the office for many years to come.

Great quality and comfort. Love the olive CXL. Laces are crazy long had to replace with a shorter set.
