Not anywhere close to true to size unfortunately
There's a lot to like about these shoes. From style to insole softness on the foot, to design. All things that can easily be appreciated. Unfortunately, the fitment is nowhere near true to size. All the other 7.5 D shoes in my collection have some measure of a gap from the toes to the tip of the shoe. These, however, you need to SQUEEZE into them and offer no gap at all. Having a pair of Quoddy's USA made Chukka boots that fit perfectly with a bit of space for socks and then some and going to this was quite distressing because they fit more like a size 7 and potentially even a 6.5 and don’t feel as though they would stretch over time. They're so tight, it seems like you would need to go a full size up to get some level of ease while wearing these shoes. Also, don't know if it's because you need to break in the outsole, but they're curved-ish. It doesn't sit flat and easily rocks from the left to the right. Was expecting that these would be too big, never expected them to be too tight. I’m mixed on whether to do an exchange because it seems like the insole may be too thick and squishing your toes into bottom side of the vamp. Have average feet. No crazy bunions or anything. Great looking shoe – order at least half a size up to potentially a full size up. They seem to run narrow.
